The Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Ill., hosts more than 375 events a year and draws in more than 900,000 visitors annually. The Civic Center recently went through a $55 million expansion and upgrade, making it the largest convention facility in downstate Illinois. The project included a new 110,000-square-foot (10,219-m2) exhibit hall, a 45,000-square-foot (4,181-m2) meeting space, more than 100 new restroom facilities, a new box office, new Rivermen Team Store, new prefunction space and a 65-foot- (20-m-) high Great Hall atrium.
The expansion used 10,684 square feet (993 m2) of CENTRIA’s Formawall Dimension Series metal wall panels in platinum and 15,324 square feet (1,424 m2) of Style-Rib exposed fastener profiles in platinum. The Formawall Dimension Series was used because it provides both advanced thermal efficiency and moisture control in a single panelized component, while offering aesthetic customization, versatility and great performance.
The strength and durability of the wall panels withstand drastic climate changes, while providing unlimited form, color and texture options. The Style-Rib fastener profiles were chosen for their extreme versatility and ability to be insulated to meet many levels of thermal properties.
